The Venue: Lantern Lodge

Lantern Lodge in Blairsville, GA will serve as our destination retreat and wedding venue. It has magnificent views of the Blue Ridge Mountains from every bedroom and every one of the 8 decks.

We hope you enjoy the quiet relaxation of this superb mountain escape; only 7 miles to the charming town of Blairsville and a 30 minute drive to downtown Blue Ridge. It's also close to hiking trails, fishing, lake swimming, kayaking, boating, tubing, and the invigorating outdoors.

The two houses have 8 bedrooms; an open game area; a rock-built pizza oven; an all-stone backyard patio with fireplace; an outdoor fire pit; indoor fireplaces, a treehouse and hammocks , a rock waterfall, and rustic cabin decor.

Venue Rules and Guidelines

Lantern Lodge is set in a rural, residential community. With this is mind, the owners have set some guidelines for guests in order to keep the impact of events to the surrounding homes to a minimum.

Noise:

Apparently, loud music and other noise can echo through the valley pretty dramatically. Decibel meters are installed around the property so the management can monitor levels and reach out to us if it gets excessive. We can get fined if it gets too loud, so please help us keep it down.

Alcohol:

The venue does not allow alcohol on the premises, with a few exceptions. Therefore, we ask that our guests please don't bring any alcohol to the venue. We'll have plenty of opportunities to "imbibe" during our in-town events. We will have a champagne toast and the reception with sparkling grape juice available for our guests who don't drink.

Parking:

All cars have to be parked inside the gate, as street parking is not permitted. Call Austin or Matt when you arrive and we'll help you locate where to park.

We appreciate you helping us respect the rules of the venue managers and owners.

Questions & Answers

What are the sleeping arrangements?

We've picked out each bedroom for all our guests based on their family size and any special considerations. Each bedroom will have a copy of your specific itinerary based on your RSVP's and feature some other surprises! Some bedrooms have private bathrooms and others share a bathroom.

What meals are provided during the week?

We'll provide dinner on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights and brunch on Sunday morning. We'll have groceries on-site for breakfasts, lunches, and snacks, but you can feel free to go out for these meals into Blairsville or Blue Ridge. Feel free to bring your own drinks and snacks if you prefer (please no alcohol).

How many days can we stay at Lantern Lodge?

You can arrive as early as Thursday, September 11 at 10:00 a.m. and leave as late as Sunday, September 14 at 11:00 a.m. We'd love for everyone to stay as long as they can!

Do we have to come to every event?

No, though we'd love for all our friends and family (a.k.a. "Framily") to attend as many events as possible. We've kept our wedding small so you all can have fun and spend time with us AND each other!

Can we head out on our own?

Absolutely! Check out the "Things to Do" section of this site for fun day-trip ideas.

What's the attire for the week?

We want everyone to be comfortable! All the events during the day will be casual. Evening events on Thursday and Friday nights, and for the wedding and dinner afterwards on Saturday night will be will be "smart casual," basically what you'd wear out to a nice dinner.

Will there be a reception?

Yes! With having such a small wedding, limited to our immediate family and friends, we know there are a lot of other folks who want to celebrate our marriage who won't be able to attend. So we're planning a dinner event in October that we're calling the "After-Party." We'll invite our friends from church, work, and other circles to come together for a fun night of food and music. More details to come...
